Top Five Things That Make JCB Equipment Excellent

#1 - JCB Changed the Industry with their Invention of the Modern Telehandler

From the beginning, JCB has stood out with their quality manufacturing and innovative pioneering designs. They are constantly pushing the boundaries of engineering and functionality with their desire to be the best.

Almost 50 years ago in 1977, JCB introduced the world to their groundbreaking Telescoping Handler (Telehandler). It took the industry by storm with its side-mounted engine and telescopic boom which provided the operator with an unheard-of unobstructed view of the working area. This in turn reduced the risk of accidents occurring.

The JCB Telehandler’s design continues to develop and is still viewed as an exceptional design.

#2 - JCB Created a New Class of Forklift with the Teletruk

When JCB designed the Teletruck, they didn’t want just another forklift on the market. They wanted to take material handling to a whole new level and created a new category for this type of machinery.

In 1997 JCB introduced the world to their side-mounted telescopic boom technology on their new Teletruk Forklift. This was a game-changer in material handling productivity, and safety. The unique design allowed for unparalleled visibility, forward reach, and lift capacity, all within a compact machine.

The Teletruk quickly became synonymous with enhanced performance and versatility. While it performs the tasks of conventional forklifts easily, it can also incorporate the work abilities of a skid steer loader, compact telescopic handler, rough terrain forklift, and compact wheel loader.

The Teletruk's impact on logistical and compact equipment continues to be felt, as it remains a trusted and indispensable tool in numerous industries worldwide.

#3 - JCB E-TECH 19C-1E is the World’s First Mass-Produced, Electric Mini Excavator, with Diesel Engine Equivalent Power and Performance

JCB Electric E-TECH range is leading the industry in clean technology and reducing the harmful emissions that can be associated with some heavy equipment. They can provide the same high performance as their equivalent diesel machines without the harmful emissions and produce significantly lower noise levels during operation.

This makes them ideal for indoor worksites or in emission restricted areas. The lower noise may allow you to keep working outside of a regular workday that would normally cause a disturbance. They are fast-charge ready and can handle a full typical day of work on a single charge.

The E-TECH range of machinery from JCB has considerably lower operating costs than conventional machinery. They provided reduced energy costs, and there is less servicing & maintenance, and require minimal daily checks.

#4 - JCB is Powering the Future of Heavy Equipment with Hydrogen

JCB continues to be on the cutting edge of clean power without sacrificing performance.

JCB amazed the industry when they debuted the world's first hydrogen internal combustion engine (ICE), at ConExpo 2023. It’s a part of JCB's continued research to reduce environmental emissions that heavy-duty machines produce.

Make no mistake. This is an actual engine, and not a set of hydrogen fuel cells. It replaces the need for fossil fuel, produces zero-emissions, and will allow heavy-machinery to continue to work effectively for up to twelve hours on a full tank.

Prototypes of the JCB Backhoe Loader and JCB Telescoping Handler have already been developed, and a retrofit of a Mercedes 7.5-ton truck was accomplished in days. The future is now.

#5 - JCB's Need for Speed

Did you know that JCB Equipment holds three land speed World Records?

  • World’s Fastest Backhoe Loader: The JCB GT reached a speed of 116.82 km/h
  • World’s Fastest Tractor: The JCB Fastrac Two reached a speed of 247.47 km/h
  • World’s Fastest Diesel Engine: The JCB DieselMax reached a mind boggling 529.09 km

We're not saying you would ever need to trench the back-forty at 200+ km/h, but it illustrates the level of commitment JCB has to their engine and technology research and development. All the great discoveries and accomplishments trickle down to improve the JCB equipment we all use today, making the machines more powerful and more efficient.
